Club Activities

Lawn bowling season in Edmonton runs from May to September and most days or evenings in the season, you can find a bowls game that is just right for you - from pairs, singles, and tournaments to social and themed events like Pajama Bowls and Canada Day bowls.
Browse our calendar to see what we're up to this season.

Our season usually opens with a President’s Day Tournament and barbecue - an opportunity to catch up with old friends, and welcome new members to the club. The season continues with various leagues, tournaments, social, and drop-in bowling. The club will also host several provincial playdowns over the summer. The season concludes with several tournaments before winterizing begins.

We also offer Drop-In (Daytime Social Bowls) which is much more casual than league play. Drop-in play is a great way to unwind with friends, take advantage of some free coaching or practice your strategy - consult the club calendar to see drop-in timeslots.

Any club member may have a disk made and posted on a board in the club. During a disk draw game these disks are given to the draw master who will draw randomly to make up the teams.

Social Bowls make good use of the disks and are a great way to meet new friends! Teams are decided by drawing names before play starts. The number of teams and players per team are determined by the number of bowlers present. Edmonton’s Commonwealth Lawn Bowling Club welcomes people of all ages and abilities - lawn bowling is a sport that everyone can participate in!
